Asus X570-i (ON BOARD FRONT PANEL USB-C?)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Long story short I plan to rebuild my current build, and I know AMD is making announcements in October. I plan to build inside the Lian li tu150. (Which has a usb-c on the front panel). This leads me to the question. I have reviewed most sites and checked every official photo of the board. I’ve even emailed Asus multiple times with no response, does this board have a onboard header for a usb c front panel. The reason I am asking, the smaller but technically the upgraded and more expensive board the Asus ROG Crosshairs VIII impact has a usb c. And this board is SMALLER. So I figured a slightly bigger board mini itx could fit one. So I checked the sister board Asus ROG strix B550-I has a usb-c and this board is slightly cheaper then the higher chipset x570-I. So the leads me to think it’s not a value issue. My only hope is the port is hidden under a ROG cover somewhere. I apologize for the rant, I do appreciate any assistance.

TLDR:

Q: does this board (Asus B550-I I presume?) have a onboard header for a usb-c front panel?

A: Yes, it does

From Asus Strix B550-I user manual, page 7:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B550-I-GAMING/HelpDesk_Manual/

"Front USB (Total 5 ports)

1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 front panel connector (supports USB Type-C®)“

BTW: welcome a new forum member! :D
